Girbau and multinational consultancy Seidor, specialising in technology services and solutions, this morning at the IOT Solutions World Congress in Barcelona presented the results of the Indtech Challenge.
call for start-ups. This joint initiative was presented in late June with the aim of identifying and backing start-ups that provide ground-breaking solutions for the value chain in the industrial sector.
The Indtech Challenge initiative has proved very popular among start-ups. In little more than 3 months, 127 applications have been received from 25 countries. Most (38) come from Spain, but there is also a significant presence for start-ups from the United States (18), Israel (14) and Germany (11). The presentation took place in a highly suitable setting, as a third of the projects submitted are linked to Internet of Things technology. Artificial Intelligence and Big Data are the other areas of technology in which the most projects were submitted. Nearly 80% of the projects submitted by the start-ups are at the initial or growth stage.
Some of the start-ups will have the chance to seal cooperation agreements with Girbau and Seidor, and will have access to the commercial capacity and advice by experts and executives from two leading companies in their respective sectors.
Pere Girbau, the Girbau CEO, stated, "We are very pleased with the response to the IndTech Challenge, which represents a chance for us to take up solutions and technologies to help us to be more competitive and generate value for our customers."
For his part, Eduard Farga, Seidor’s Deputy Managing Director, added, "We are very satisfied with the results, in terms of both the interest stirred by the IndTech Challenge among start-ups from different countries and, in particular, of the level of quality and variety of the proposals we have received. Without a doubt, innovative solutions will emerge from this call which will add value to the industrial sector."
Details of the launch of the IndTech Challenge were outlined at the event organised by the two companies at the IoT Solutions World Congress 2018, a top international event focusing on innovations in the Internet of Things held at the Fira de Barcelona from 16th to 18th October.
